Position Description – Website/Search Engine Localization Specialist
Translationdeal.com is a global translation and localization agency offering products and services to clients in over 100 languages. Web-based localization is in high demand, as companies of all sizes and in all niches continue their efforts to reach international audiences. Roles and Responsibilities
- Translate all website text from English to Spanish
- Evaluate all text and visuals/videos for compatibility with the social, cultural and religious values and behaviors of the targeted Spanish demographic. Make changes as necessary for exemplary user experience and interface
- Run QA testing and evaluation as each segment of localization is accomplished
- Perform de-bugging using appropriate proprietary software
- Locate and work with local software engineers for advanced algorithm development, when necessary
- Perform query evaluation
- Write/translate strings for quality data contents
- Write configurations for subtitles and explanations
Typical Projects
The projects may be quite diverse, and could include any of the following:
- Localization of gaming and app software, including mobile compatibility
- Localization of e-commerce websites
- Localization of SEO
- Localization of social media sites
Educational and Experiential Background
- Must have a university degree in computer science and/or engineering
- Have worked in the tech industry in native country, preferably for a minimum of two years
- Prior translation and localization experience a plus
- A native of India
- Fluency in English as demonstrated by passage of our language examination
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other technology experts as necessary
- Solid interpersonal relationship skills to work well with clients
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to deadline parameters as set by clients
- High interest in data curation and language QA tasks
- Willingness to prepare/deliver regular progress reports to clients
- Web and mobile app literacy
- QA testing experience
- Experience in translation of content, SEO, and social media a plus
Income and Income Reporting
All of our localization specialists work as contracted freelancers. As such, they are paid by the project, and we do not adjust payments for local taxes of any kind. National, regional, and local income reporting for tax and other regulatory purposes is the sole responsibility of the contractor.
The Application Process
We welcome applicants who are experts in their native languages and cultures and in the nuances of language within specific demographics of their native populations. Applicants must also be fluent in at least one other language, as determined by an examination they take. For web-based localization projects, as stated above, we require a degree in computer science and prefer a few years of work experience in a technology field.
