Position Description – Localization Specialist – Printed Material

Translationdeal.com has positions for localization specialists in over 100 countries around the world. In general, these individuals must be natives of the countries of the targeted localization, as well as be fluent in the language of the nationality of the client. For example, we may have a British client who is requesting localization for press releases, captions for visuals, etc. for an Indonesian audience. Here would be a position description for someone we would employ for this task.

Roles and Responsibilities for the Position of a Localization Specialist in Printed Materials for Indonesia

  • A native of Indonesia who is familiar with standards of journalism, academic writing, and employment terminology in his/her country
  • Fluency in English, as demonstrated by passage of a company-created examination
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with clients
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to meet client deadlines
  • Work with topic-specific experts to ensure that terminology is correct
  • Provide status reports to TranslationDeal.com and to clients on a regular basis
  • Willingness to conduct research as required to ensure that terminology and vocabulary is exact
  • Attention to detail
  • Mindfulness of social/cultural nuances of native language and target audience for the translated materials.

All of our localization specialists operate as contracted freelancers for translationdeal.com. As such, they will receive, at the end of each year, an income statement from our agency. Taxes and other regulatory requirements regarding income in one’s native country are the sole responsibility of the contracted individual.
